Hong Kong Day 3

The journey for Day 3 begins with a true-local Cantonese Dim Sum breakfast! Leecher was lamenting over the fact that he hasn't sunk his teeth into any of the siew mai, cha siew baos or har gaos yet. Thus, to satisfy his cravings, we traveled back to Central in search for the authentic 茶餐厅.

A chio-chio picture along one of the lanes in Central, haha :)

Leecher against the backdrop of a very steep slope. You will experience a lot of such slopes in HK.

Imagine having to walk/climb the slope twice a day. Hmm...suddenly, this seemed like a good exercise routine & Leecher can regain his slim and lean figure. 为了让 Leecher 恢复以前的身材perhaps, we should migrate to HK and stay around this area, haha.

The wet-market along the streets. Lots of housewives bargaining for the cheapest deal.

We finally reached this 茶餐厅, much to Leecher's delight!

Packed to the brim with the Hongkies; Leecher & me had a difficult time looking for seats :(

Finally, we found 2 seats at the corner of the 茶餐厅. Not knowing what to do, we adopt the "Monkey see, Monkey do" strategy. They washed their cups in the hot water, we followed suit.

The "ordering" card for dim sums.

The trolley full of steamers being wheeled around the 茶餐厅

Problems arose when we had to order food! With our not-so-strategic seatings (see above), coupled with our 连半桶水都不到的 command of Cantonese and their 连半桶水都不到的 command of Chinese, it's really like the duck trying to communicate with the chicken. We can't see the food in the steamer nor can we understand what they were saying ... thus, we only managed to order these:

Haa, lots of dough in our stomach after this meal. Leecher was quite disappointed that he didn't get to eat har gaos and the authentic siew ma (the ones that we ordered were made of beef).

Paying the bill which came up to around HK$72.

Back to the tailors for the 1st fitting of his suit. Haiz, I wonder why Leecher always like go to the tailor's after meals and not before ... is that his ploy to stay "plump"?

Yeah, finally it's my turn to feel happy! Visiting the largest LV shop in HK - it's almost 4 storeys high. However, came out empty-handed :( turned out that the prices have increased.

Leecher with my purchases! We spent almost 1 hr in Kate Spade trying to get a bag for his mum & myself. FMQ & Miaoli tompang a LC bag each too ;)

We came across this shop selling 鸡蛋仔 and the fragrant smell made Leecher took out his wallet and started to join in the queue.

Ta-dah! Cute?

Leecher can easily finish 100 of these in one go, haha. We wanted to have a competition to see who can put in the most number of 鸡蛋仔 into his/her mouth, but decided against it for we don't want to look unglam in the streets of HK.

Embarking on our first bus ride in HK (not exactly the first, this is Leecher correcting Blamer's mistake. Refer to first post on Hong Kong trip after we visited the Peak)

Really looked like SBS double-deck bus(this is Leecher again, yes I mentioned this point b4 le).

Similar layout, felt so much like home :)

Leecher trying to act 可怜 cuz he was still hungry even though he finished the 鸡蛋仔. He is really an eating-machine, oh gosh!

We finally arrived @ this quite-posh neighbourhood after 1/2 bus journey, all for one shop

Space Warehouse for Prada & Miumiu!

See, Leecher getting all set and ready to sharpen his knife behind the "smile", heehee.

However, there wasn't much stuff to buy, much to our disappointment :(

Our 扁嘴 look when we came out of Space empty-handed ....

The traditional HK fishing port/boats on the way back to Central.

Famished, we rushed to Yung Kee for their award winning roast goose. Yung Kee is voted no. 8 on The Miele Guide 2008. Our jaws dropped when we saw the entrance to the restaurant.

Not because of the geese hanging at the little corner, but the posh-ness of the place. This meant that the wallet is going to suffer huge damage. (Leecher highlights : MY Wallet)

To further confirm the serious damage done to the wallet, we were ushered into a lift that brought us to the 3rd floor - with elaborated settings suitable for grand 寿 celebrations.

Leecher with the very expensive menu

The preserved eggs with pickled ginger was served as soon as our butts touched the seat. Impressive service, I must say. Love this dish though it's kinda pricey. My eyes nearly popped out of my face when Leecher said " 给我一杯冰鸳鸯" He must be crazy to order 冰鸳鸯 @ this place.

So, this is the 冰鸳鸯 that he casually ordered.

His 奸计得逞, see the straw in the middle?

We ordered the Barbecued Suckling Pig & Roasted Goose platter.

Trying to put the condiments into the picture, so that the table won't look so empty.

Getting ready to dig in! Halfway through our meal, I almost choked on my rice when Leecher said: Don't you think the chicken tastes different? Hello! It's goose meat you're eating! Did the 冰鸳鸯 overwhelmed you that much that you can't think properly? Wa ha ha. Oh, I never got to found out how much that 冰鸳鸯 costs for Leecher went to foot the bill and conveniently forgot to take the receipt, hahaa.

Hmm...Where will this long stretch of walkway leads us to?

To the Central Pier! We chose to take the ferry back to TST for it was much cheaper :)

The Upper Deck Entrance costs HK$2.20 as compared to HK$7.70 by MTR.

The ferry closing into the dock. There will be a ferry almost every 5 minutes and the travelling time from Central to TST is around 5-7 minutes.

On board the ferry!

We wanted to book tickets for this Chinese Junk ride but we couldn't afford the time. Haiz, I wanna do it next time I visit HK.

The venue for "Symphony of the lights show". Love the vibrant colours of the buildings and definitely makes the perfect backdrop for pictures!

We caught the symphony of the lights show and recorded it down on video to share with our readers :)

Beijing 2008 Spirit ~

The Avenue of Stars features commemorative plaques, handprints of celebrities, a life-size status of Bruce Lee & many more.

How about Avenue of Stars with a Halloween theme? Seemed like Halloween is widely celebrated in HK. (Leecher: Gasp! I dead serious tat I mentioned this b4!!!)

Leecher can't resist a Halloween-inspired "chop-my-head-off" pose.

The towering Hong Kong Film Awards statuette. Leecher was pretty excited at seeing the "scantily" dressed woman, haha.

Bedtime for Leecher?

Warming the director's seat ...

Where are you filming?? I am just beside you.

Heeeelllllloooooo! I can't hear you!

Doesn't this reminds you of Mickey Mouse's ears?

My fave actor :) *muacks*

Acting sey in front of Bruce Lee. Please, people so fit while you so fat. A single alphabet mean a lot of difference :P

Eric Tsang sure have small hands!

Took the train from East TST > Kowloon Tong > Prince Edward > Walked through 2 streets before reaching Fa Yuen Street.

Long day + lotsa walking = tired & oily faces, hahaa

Salted fish claypot rice & super oily oyster omelette to wrap up the day.
