Arbite Xmas/Bdae meal

A non-related wedding post, as I'm still trying to load all the pictures onto this blog & it certainly is taking quite a long time to blog a single wedding post entry. Meet up with Yaozu & Kenneth for dinner around Xmas period (ok, that gives away the timeline of the pictures, lol).

Walking along the alleyway towards the destination, as we couldn't get a parking lot in front of the shop.

Our foodie adventure this time round (based on my recommendation!) at Arbite.

Leecher was on half day (which explained the casual outfit) but he picked me up @ Serangoon MRT station, cuz Chomp Chomp was quite out of the way from any MRT station.

What does Arbite really means?

"A pun on the German/Danish word for work (arbeit/arbejde). Inspired by Europe
but rooted in Singapore. An intrinsic honesty to the word. This permeates
everything that we do and serve" -- from Arbite website

The cosy restaurant is located on the 2nd floor & while walking up, the whitewashed walls are decorated with pieces of lego. The holes were left behind by the previous owner and the current Arbite owners decided to spice it up by pasting lego on it.

Xmas set menu - it may make its round again come this Dec.

Kenneth looking through the menu - spoilt for choices!

The place was pretty packed on a Friday night & for once, Leecher called in for reservation! I'm utterly surprised that Leecher actually called for reservation, for this is the kind of "job scope" that usually gets "dedicated" to me, haha!

Drinks - the usual of chocolate milkshake, ice tea & sanpellegrino juice.

Garlic bread was served warm. The garlic fragrance wasn't too overwhelming and good enough to eat it on its own.

Crab cake which was fried to perfection, no traces of oil can be tasted (I wonder if they are using the new Air-Fryer, haha) and the golden crust was crisp and tasty.

Saffron Seafood Stew, which comes with mussels, squid, fish, prawns and pitted green olives stewed with tomatoes & herbs. The tomato soup base whips up the appetite by several notches.

Arbite (all-day) breakfast - scrambled eggs, bacon, baked beans, grilled tomato, veal bratwurst, sauteed mushrooms and pommes noisettes. We nearly died of bread overdose, but the rest of the items were great! Love the sauteed mushrooms the most :)

Pappardelle with mushrooms and parma ham - comes with button mushrooms, spinach, parma ham and cream sauce drizzled with truffle oil. As much as I like cream-based pasta, I wouldn't order it when eating on my own, as I'll get the jerlak feeling majority of the time. As we are sharing food b/w us, I went ahead to order this and this dish got the thumbs up from all of us!

Squid Ink Tagliatelle Seafood contains mussels, squid, prawns and chilli in a tomato base sauce. Nothing too fantastic about this dish, as it was basically a replica of Saffron Seafood Stew.

The real star of the night! Now I know why Leecher called to make reservation, haha! Totally unexpected and this came as a pleasant surprise :)

Making a wish ... forever 21~

My Wife’s Chocolate Cake (how apt!) served with a scope of Mövenpick ice-cream. A light dessert to finish off the meal :)
