BKK Trip with Leecher Nov 2012 P5

Another week to Xmas! I must say I'm still pretty much in holiday mood, haha, which warrants another travel post :)

Again, missing breakfast for lazy Leecher was too engrossed in sleeping. Again, another #ootd to start the day with, haha!

Individual shots - I love how cheerful my dress looked and Leecher is looking to start a war with his T-shirt.

Shopping on the go! This was put on displayed @ one of the BTS station, with a QR code underneath each item. So you just need to login, scan the QR code to start adding items to your shopping bag, pay for the items and await delivery! As simple as 1,2,3.

Back to Chinatown in day time. This time round, we decided to go Chinatown using another mode of transport, having tried bus and train+walking previously. We cabbed to Chinatown, haha! Yeah, one of the rare times when we actually cabbed in BKK, even though cab rides are relatively cheap. We were quoted 200THB for a one way trip and refused to board any, unless it was running on meter. What's the point of being tok-carrot when you have the right to insist on charging by meter? We managed to board a cab which charged by meter and we paid THB80 for the journey there.

The usual shop was closed. Imagine my horror when I was told they only opened by 4pm when we were there at 11am.

Exploring the area, since this was the 1st time that we came to Chinatown in the daytime. We always frequent this place at night, with a meal @ the nearby seafood restaurant & followed by snack-buying routine at 林真香.

CDs for sale .... I remembered buying a lot of CDs during my secondary school days, having to save my pocket money just to buy a single CD.

Walking and enjoying the sights along the way.

I nearly shrieked with joy when I spotted that there was another  林真香 further down the road.

This store, apparently the 店 sells a lot of 腊 stuff - different from the other shop which mainly concentrated on local snacks.

Helpers in the shop packing food into respective packages. I honestly hoped that they did practiced some basic hygiene standards.

Spending a bomb at the shop, close to 75SGD worth of snacks to be brought home.

Spotted another 林真香 shop just next door. The 2 林真香 can be differenitated by their mascot ... one with a pig, the other bearing a dragon. Basically, they sell almost the same stuff and same prices.

Be extra cautious when shopping at this outlet (shop with dragon mascot) - be sure to re-calculate your purchases. The guy in front of Leecher was overcharged by almost 300THB. Leecher paid around 1000THB for the stuff and he felt that something was amiss, for we only put in 6 packets into the basket. So we had to re-open the box, re-calculated the goods and found out we were overcharged of almost 400THB. Imagine if we didn't check our purchases!

Seafood  - mainly crabs on display along the roadside stalls.

Walking along the streets - kinda excited, felt like a kid out on excursion.

Settled our lunch at this roadside stall.

The broth was really good! I've a problem with bean sprouts, and had to handpick all and dumping it in Leecher's bowl. I could easily finish another bowl, but I had to save stomach space for our cafe experience later.
