VW Golf GTI

A couple of months back, we were invited to a sneak preview of Golf GTI at Volkswagen showroom in Macpherson. We bought our Jet at the Alexendar branch, so this was our 1st visit to Macpherson showroom. Jet was sent in for a complimentary car wash, much to Leecher's delight, haha!

Upon entering, we had to walk through a dimly-lit tunnel. The engine sound of the new GTI could be heard from the audio system, signalling that the car is powered up and ready to go!
The new Golf GTI, in full glory right in front of us. It was certainly to be the privileged few guests invited to see this car in Asia Pacific. There were 2 different colours on display - the white version & the chili red, as seen above. The colour turned out orangish in my pic due to the spot lights.

It was an intimate event with around 50 invited guests.
Want to make a guess what GTI stands for in Singapore?

Got Turbo Inside, LOL! Well, it actually means Grand Touring Injection & the first car to be marketed with this abbreviation was Maserati's 1961 3500 model.
Mr Steffen Schwarz, the Managing Director of VW Singapore giving us the opening speech. The Marketing department then walked us through some of the new programs that they have for existing clients & the marketing plans for the new GTI. Did anyone try out the fast lane in Vivocity?

Placement card of the table for guests to find their seat. We sat with the workshop & mechanics managers, together with 4 other guests. The interactive was very beneficial, for the managers provided us with lots of information & knowledge about the car.
Food was good as well! They had a make-shift kitchen where food was prepared on the spot for us. Being a small-scale buffet, I took a bit of every dish and was impressed by the quality of the food.
Our welcome gift, which we collected at the end of the event.
