Preparation for V-Day

Tomorrow is V-day and it's also the 3rd V-day that i spent with Leecher. I decided to surprise Leecher by making a box full of ai-xin snacks for him (well, I suppose that since he is FAT, it won't hurt to add a little bit more to his ever-expanding waistline, haha)

Since I am not a good cook, I decided to make something simple, heehee. (@ least I take the effort to make it leh...)

Here's the ingredients for the snacks:

Mummy helped me with making the chocolate (to coat the strawberries). In the midst of making it, Leecher called me. (OH DEAR!) I had to come up with an excuse to get off the phone, for the chocolate was getting burnt. Luckily, I asked him if he had make reservations for dinner and he immediately got off the phone (which obviously means that he haven't done so, haha). Saved for round 1.

Was busy coating the strawberries with chocolate and ready to be placed in the fridge when Leecher called again ($%#$^^&). He heard me telling Mummy to put the stuff in the fridge and asked me what am I doing ... panicked for a split second and told him that I am putting the leftover rice in the fridge, don't waste food ma .... think he really believed me.....heehee... Saved for round 2.
Lots of strawberries with chocolates, yummy!

Next up, its time for the Oreo-coated biscuit sticks. Well, I had to smash the biscuits into "powdery" form, so that the crumbs can "stick" to the biscuit. In the midst of doing that, Leecher decided to call me again!! Arg, this time cannot escape, he will surely hear the loud smashing in the background.

Leecher: Dear, what are you doing?
Me: I am busy hitting xiao-ren.
Leecher (laughing in the background): what xiao-ren?
Me (trying my best to think of excuses): You lo, since I will not get any flowers tomorrow. Thus, I have to seek revenge.
Leecher: How come you need to hit for so long?
Me: Cuz this xiao-ren aka you is quite FAT, thus, I need time to cover every single inch.

LOL!!! That kept him from asking more questions - saved once again for round 3!

Presenting the Oreo-coated biscuits:

I decided to make the rainbow-candied coated biscuits for him too, since I am RAINBOW, heehee.

Here's the box of Ai-Xin snacks for Leecher:

Me, with the box of goodies for Leecher! (taken in my office, haha)

Hope Leecher will be touched and loves this Ai-Xin snacks!
To Leecher: if your waistline expands due to this, I am not at fault, ^_^

Edited: To KJ - many thanks for the innovative idea, still remembered it after so long, haha! but, i did improvised it with the rainbow-candied ones, =P

Chinese New Year 2008

Introducing my new fling:

Haha, no lah, this is my cousin - whom I only get to meet like twice a year. Initially thought that given Leecher's memory, he won't be able to recognise my cousin whom he only met once last yr. However, surprise surprise, he can remember! Well, goes to show that he can remember things too, so I will be expecting more from him, haha.

Went to Leecher's place to pai-nian - see how sloppily dressed Leecher is :

Slack Leecher

Me ( in this gg>5 dress that I bought specially for CNY)

Xiufong + Me

Since its CNY, we must have some poses that show people that its CNY period
*no surprise that this comment came from Leecher*

And what's CNY without gambling? We went to Ivy's place for a CNY gathering on 10 Feb 08. Played "in-between" and guess who ends up walking away with this pool of money?

It's Shou Jun (Jancy's son) who happens to be the youngest player in the group.
Posing with his winnings ...

Sweeping the money to his side and into his pockets. He is so cute!

Dennis decided that its time he whipped out some dishes to celebrate this CNY period. Here's the Japanese curry:

Sotong balls (prepared by auntie)

Yusheng

Chawanmushi (prepared by Valencia)

And the chefs behind all the spread:

While the chefs are busy in the kitchen, here we are enjoying ourselves with Mahjong+ cam-whoring, opps!

And this cat has been with Leecher for 3 consecutive games. Doesn't he knows that I don't like cats (since I am born in the year of the rat)?

Finally, its time to eat. We must lo hei first to usher in a HUAT year!

While waiting to clear the table, its time to cam-whore again...
The whole entourage of friends who turn up

Leecher + Auntie

Loving couple - Bernice + Marcus

Ai Li+ Betsy+ Valencia

Finally, me!

After the meal, its time for dessert - fruit punch (think so)

Lastly, I had to end the mahjong game by paying for everyone, cuz I throw out a tile which let Ai Li game "man-tai". Haiz, though this year is my year, but I seriously cannot gamble... Its okie, hope that everyone had a FUN CNY!

Dinner at Cream Bistro

Dinner @ Cream Bistro

On a fateful Friday just before the new year, Blamer, me and my bro decided to make one last attempt to buy some new clothes for the upcoming new year at Orchard Road.

However as expected, it was damn crowded and we ended thinking about where to have dinner instead. An idea struck Blamer that there is a restaurant tucked away from the main crowd. Presenting...

I have been here the other time with Kenneth, who first introduced Blamer and me to this place.
After placing our orders, we decided to cam whore for while...

Some arty farty photo first.

This is my bro by the way..

Blamer as usual

Finally, with me in the pic. Blamer was complaining that I did not bring "dent dent" out. But I think the photos taken with my trusty phone looks okay wat...

Finally the food is here...

Appetizer: Stuffed chicken wings, not too bad leh, look at my bro u know oredi..

Next up is chicken soup:

I always think that the soup they serve is not bad. The previous time was mushroom soup, which I think tasted better.

This is spicy seafood goreng I think. Supposedly this is a chef's recommendation, I think it is too spicy for my bro and blamer.

Lastly, this is my dish, Pan-seared Cod Fish with chips. Not bad lah, although they could have been more generous with their fish serving. The fish fillet in my opinion, is too thinly sliced. I bet u find it quite hard to distinguish the fish from the chips rite?
