Footprints in KL

Morning Flight to KL

My 1st official meet-the-clients-on-my-own business trip to KL. It was quite a packed journey, but nevertheless, i enjoyed myself pretty much too.

I was packing my luggage the night before and my mum commented that since its' just a 1-day trip, why not just take a small bag? Well, I do agree with her, but most of the stuff in my luggage are for my clients - documents, flysheets etc. Must take all these to show clients ma - so that others will know that I got do my work.

Woke up at 4am to catch the 7.10am flight @ T2. Been quite a while since I stepped into T2.

The garden that I always walked past w/o giving a 2nd look.

Since not many people are loitering in the departure hall, I decided that I should take a picture, haha.

Grabbed a quick breakfast - eggs and teh-O - @ Wang Jiao before boarding the flight

The journey to KL took only 1 hr - and the plane didn't even ascend into the clouds. I can still see land quite clearly.

This is the first time that I feel that I am travelling via budget despite being on SQ. Perhaps, its due to the short trip (flying for 45 mins) that no earphones were given out, no blanket and pillow to hug etc. When I looked at the itnery prepared for me, it was stated that snack will be given. I thought that perhaps I would have some biscuits to munch on .... but all I was given was .....

Felt kinda cheated, but can't blame them too, haha. Plus, the flight attendent was too "attentive" to passenger's needs. I was yawning (up at 4am you know, of cuz will yawn lah) but he mistook that I wanted to throw up, quickly asked if I wanted a bag ... >_<
Took a seat near the exit, wow, I love the huge leg space that they offer.

An hr journey from the airport to Marriott hotel - the driver keep yakety-yak away on the phone non-stop (got so much to talk meh?) My room - 11th floor up and overlooking the new shopping complex. Didn't have the chance to visit, since I heard that it's something like Paragon.

This bed definitely wins hands down in terms of the number of pillows (Westin only had 4, this has 6!)
TV and working area - the TV channels are good! Can watch MTV, HK dramas etc. I watched "A Date with the Vampire 3" before dozing off at night.

Mini Bar ... not a fan of it though

The bathroom has a Victorian feel to it, but I prefer the one @ Westin :)

Self-check - quite chui leh, but nvm la, hahaha

After checking into the hotel, its nearly 10.30. Rushed to change to my "formal" clothes and its out to the 1st meeting at 11am. My client actually called me (when I was still on the way to the hotel) if the meeting could be earlier. Wa lao, if not for this 11am meeting, I no need to torture myself and took the 7am flight lo.

Poolside Lunch @ Marriott Cafe

The meeting was ok, not that good as expected though. Felt a bit discouraged by it and decided to have lunch by the pool to relax myself. Think I was pretty tensed during the meeting (1st time kena asked so many questions, stressed leh)
Nothing much on the menu - so ordered the calamari (so-so only)

Penang laksa - strong fishy smell, almost left the whole bowl untouched.

Initially, I was very hungry cuz I only had 2 eggs in the morning @ 5am. When the food was served, I only ate like 4 calamari and 0.05% of the Penang laksa. So, go figure how "delicious" is the food.

Trying to force myself to "smile" after eating the food :(

Off the meet clients - 2 meetings in a row after lunch. Both went pretty well, morale-booster from the 1st meeting. The last meeting with XXX Bank was quite funny, the managers were all shocked that I was conducting the training. They even asked: Are you sure you are the one? Haha, they told me that they were actually expecting a more "mature" woman, haha.

When I told them that this is my 1st time in KL (been to Malaysia many times though), they wanted to bring me out for dinner, so sweet of them. Went back to the hotel after the meeting to wrap up for the day. Was feeling hungry and wanted something light - saw samosas in the menu. When the food came, I was pretty shocked .....

Pardon me for my ignorance - I wasn't expecting the samosa to look like chinese dumplings! I thought they're supposed to be triangle, small and flat...

Dinner @ Hawker Centre

Mr X came to pick me up at the hotel after work and we went to eat dinner. I told him that I had enough of hotel food, so he brought me to eat beef noodles.....oh gosh, the best meal of the day. Tender, juicy beef (oh, we had hawker food, cuz I wanted to eat local fare, haha)

Mr X drove me around in his car to look at the sights of KL. We even went scouting for local food to satisfy my mum's taste buds, haha. (the only thing my mum likes abt my biz trips is that she knows I will bring food back for her to eat)

Journey back to SG

I need to wake up at 5am, cuz the driver will pick me up at 6am. As usual, when the driver came, he was yakety-yak away on the phone. Seriously, its like 6am in the morning - who can he be talking to? Well, that's not my business anyway, but his constant chit-chatting prevents me from falling asleep, arg! Reached the airport at 7am ... see, the sky is just beginning to turn bright.

Looking at the flight details to see where I can check in my bags - somehow, I always have more things in my luggage on the return journey, even though I have gotten rid of my work stuff.

KL airport is kinda confusing in a sense that for international departures, you will need to take the aerotrain (our skytrain) to the other terminal to board the train. Kinda time-consuming i think ...

Before going down the escalator to clear the customs, so that I can take the train to the boarding gates

One good thing about this aerotrain is that it will open the gates (on one side) for people to alight first, before opening the gates on the other side for people to board. Perhaps, our skytrain should adopt the same measure, so that people won't be pushing and rushing their ways into the trains.

Duty-free shops and restaurants - but I think SG offers more variety, haha.

Had my breakfast at Delifrance - hot chocolate and butter croissant

Since there was nothing much to do on an early Saturday morning, I decided to rest in the lounge while waiting to board the plane. I always love taking pictures of the plane, haha. This is my flight, that just landed like 1/2 hr ago.

The flight was kinda empty. The economy sector that I was in - there were only like max of 20 pple. I wonder how they make money based on this, since the flight is like almost empty - and some of the passengers even travelled first class (saw a couple of them boarding through the first/business class gates)

My snack on board - still feeling sore that there were no biscuits :(

And 50 mins later, I am back!

Till the next biz trip ... quite tired to keep flying though :) But I am not complaining ...

New nickname for Leecher

Leecher has a new nickname - Moo Moo Lim (sounds kinda like a fat cow with lots of milk (fats) stored in her (his) body)

It all started with the conversation that we had ....

Me: Wa, so long then call me. I wait until the cows come home you also haven call lo...
Leecher: Moo Moo
Me (confused): Why you moo moo?
Leecher: Cuz you said "cows come home ma", so I Moo Moo lo ....
Me: ok, since you like to moo moo so much, you shall be known as Moo Moo Lim ...

WA HA HA HA .....

Bye Sydney ...

Last day spent in Sydney, woke up at 9am from my beauty sleep :) Showered and packed for the 8 hrs journey home ~ Yeah, i am really missing my bed (notice that its not Leecher, haha)

Once again, I couldn't make it for the A380 flight, arg, hate the awkward timing! Check-out from the hotel and realised that my room costs a freaking $1.85K SGD for just 3 nights stay - wow, thinking of the points that I will chalk up in my CC bills. (Leecher keeps wanting to leech on my points to redeem "presents" for himself...)

Arrived at Sydney Terminal 1 - looks quite deserted on a Wednesday afternoon.

DFS - looking for gate 52 ...

That's my flight back to sunny Singapore, no A380 - sob sob :(

My usual picture -taking routine on the seat - I heart window seats

As usual, started my chiong-ing of movies, caught 3 movies on flight. Beowulf - not that bad, but it gets boring after a while. Angelina Jolie is hot, though its not her in person :(

Pausing for a break in-b/w my movies, must rest my poor eyes. A must-take cloud picture. I always wanted to take a heart-shaped cloud, but (haiz)

Nice bar-top dances, plus the song "Can't fight the moonlight". I think this movie was released in Yr 2000, but I only managed to catch it 8 yrs after, haha. Brings back fond memories of the time when I was in Sec X (not going to reveal my age here, haha)

Ratatouille - love this movie. Remy is so cute ! Watching this movie makes me kinda hungry, but not to worry, for I am well-fed on board :)

Chicken meal - I think SQ rice tastes pretty decent, but I can't say much for the salad/vegetables.

Refreshment - mee goreng. Super spicy, but it's delicious. I swear that I almost want to lick the plate clean.
I know that whenever I see ships, I am near SG. (Sings: this is home, truely, where I know I must be. wait - I should wait till its near NDP for this, wa ha ha)

Finally, arrival at T3!

Out from the gates ...

Gosh, feels so good to be home after 8 hrs of flight :)

Our Love Nest ~ in 2012

26th March 2008 marked the day whereby we made the decision to ................

put our names in the HDB appointment form - therefore sealing our fate for the rest of our lives ~ sob sob (when want to zao sai also must consider, a lot of money is at stake here, hahaaa)

Here's our love nest that is expected to be completed in Yr 2012 - Punggol Vista

Opted for the 4-room flat - since we're too used to staying in 4-room. Poor me, was so used to living in the West - but in future, I will be staying in the North-east side. I used to think NE side is some ulu place, cuz it seems to be sooooooooooo far from the West.

Floor plan - we're located at the 12th floor, haha. (Leecher wanted to choose the 13th floor, but I refused. I am not that superstitious, but I don't feel that comfortable staying on 13th floor) Not going to reveal the blk and house unit - later Leecher strike 4D den the whole world will know, wa ha ha ha.

Leecher bought me a stalk of red rose on that day - must be his attempt to coax me into signing the letter with him, haha.

We were pretty early, so went to the hawker center to have our lunch - chicken rice + dumplings

After a satisfying lunch, we went to the HDB Hub to wait for our turn.

Looking at the TV screen for our number to be displayed....

Our last "happy" picture before going into the room to seal our fate .... :)

When we were in the room, the Admin officer posted a question to us:

Her (Looking at Leecher) : So are you guys married or single?
Leecher (Pretending to look away) remained silent for like 5 seconds.
** WTF **
Me: We're going to be married.

Leecher definitely got something from me when we stepped out of the room. Wa Ha Ha

The huge noticeboard that was put up at the site of our love nest

The plot of land that will house our love nest in 4 yrs time .....

Can't wait ~ will post more pics as the place gets developed further.

Simple Meal with Blamer

Wow it is a long time since I last blogged, and Blamer has been Kao Pei-ing non stop, heh heh. So I decided to blog abt our little dinner at mac.

It's been a while since I last had Mac, and since I had been expanding horizontally for the past few months, decided against my fav Mc'spicy and opted for the healthier Chicken Foldover. skipped the fries for cup corn, and even changed the drink from coke to hot tea! Niack Niack, healthy rite.

Me with my HEALTHY cup corn

Blamer with her unhealthy Mc'Spicy and Fries. Notice my HEALTHY chicken foldover by the side.

It's just a simply dinner but just felt very fortunate to have Blamer with me. Hee...
