Xmas Lunch with Colleagues

Another weekend spent blogging in front of the comp while Lazy Leecher is nowhere to be seen.
The annual Xmas lunch with my team @ PS Cafe, Harding Road.

It felt good to be outside CDB area on a Wednesday afternoon, enjoying the tranquil "countryside", listening to the raindrops splattering against the rooftops, the soft humming of Christmas songs; setting the mood for the feast that we were about to enjoy :)

Gigantic Christmas tree greeted us as we made our way in.

Simple table setting; in line with the theme of this restaurant.

Chalk-board menu!

The serving was humongous that most of us cannot finish it, well, with the exception of Andrew. He went for lunch earlier and still managed to fill his stomach with:
  • 0.5 X bowl of pumpkin soup
  • 3 X slices of bread
  • 1 X main dish (all eaten up)
  • 1 X banana cake
Not forgetting the sides that we had - fries & salad. Super peifu! The rest of us were too full and would literally die if we were to put another spoonful of food into our mouths.

My lovely colleagues - to a great year ahead!

Xiaoqiang's Bdae 2009

This post is almost 7 months late! Celebrated XQ's bdae way back in July 09 :)

We went to Coffee Club @ the Glass House near our office for lunch, together with Leecher.

Bdae boy with bdae present.

The guys quenching their thirst with mocha.

Get ready to eat!

How can the bdae boy do without his cake? The famous Coffee Club mudpie! I even thought of asking them to play "Happy Birthday" song for XQ, but I think he will kill me for embarrassing him :p

Quick, make a wish!

May all your wishes come true! I know one of them already did :)

Guys will always be guys

Me: Since xx is going overseas, do you think I can lompang a pair of louboutins?

Leecher: Wow, is that a big word?

Me {blur}: What big word? Louboutins?

Leecher: Ya, what is that?

Me: Erm, it's a pair of heels.

Leecher: I think you should start familiarizing yourself with words like - Mitsubishi Electric, Sanyo, LG, Samsung instead of louboutins, wa ha ha.

Meetup with Audrey

Meet up with my bad influence - Audrey - a week before I flew to Japan. We were supposed to meet up way back in April, but due to work & personal commitments from both of us, this dinner date finally materialize in Nov 09.

The burger craze - burger outlets appearing out from almost everywhere - think R's burger, Freddie Burger, Bergs Gourmet Burger; you get the hint.

My order of Duck Confit Burger. My my, it's really good! I have nothing but praises for this - I normally leave the bun of my burgers untouched, but the bun was absolutely tasty. It was soft, chewy and crispy. Served warm, it's a burger not to be missed!

Audrey's order of Tandoor Chicken Burger.

The place was crowded on a Tuesday night! We had to leave the noisy place for a coffee outlet to catch up on old times.

Audrey needed her daily dosage of caffeine, so we ended up @ Starbucks. Audrey's eyes nearly popped out when I ordered a blueberry muffin 15 min later, following our exit from Handburger. It was fabulous catching up with Audrey, reminiscing about our JC days. She kept thinking that she was a good student during JC days until I pointed out all the naughty things that we had done together, lol. It was a pity Rongshan & Allan could not joined us though :(

JB Trip in Sep 09

We ventured into JB again to visit Fling sometime back in Sep 09 & headed straight to Gianni's for their value-for-money set meal!

We were disappointed that they didn't serve us with garlic thin crusts :( However, the rest of the dishes saved the day! As usual, nothing but praises for the quality of the food.

This is the reason why their pizza tastes so good!

Miaoli was supposedly to be with us, but she was caught up in her appointment. Don't worry sister, we got a cushion to be your substitute :)

Debating on which movie to watch ....

The start of a 2hr terror. Gosh, till now, I still can't believe that I actually paid for & sat through this movie. Nv going to listen to Leecher's recommendation on any movie again!

After the horrendous movie, we need to go find something cute to look at. If not, our minds will be filled with "prawns"

OMG! Prawns coming back to haunt us!

Fling & Noel took us to this Korean BBQ restaurant for dinner. We even had someone to BBQ the food for us, though I would prefer to experience the joy of BBQ-ing the food myself.

5 filled stomachs & we were all ready to leave the gory images of the "prawns" behind in JB. This post also concludes our JB adventure in 2009; more to come in 2010 (I hope)!

Reminiscing 2009

As I looked back to 2009, it was a year filled with challenges, changes and most importantly, happiness.

:: The most memorable event - The Proposal ::

I was caught by surprise when Leecher proposed during our Bali trip. The tears of happiness rolled in my eyes when he knelt down in front of me, ring in hand. I was touched that he spent 1.5 yrs to research/find the perfect ring, his trips down to the jeweler without my knowledge, getting paranoid that the ring size won't fit my finger.

He even smuggled his props to Bali right under my nose! That sneaky fellow! He managed to execute his master plan by coordinating with the hotel staff via emails/pictures. I love the Wall-E and Eva set up, it's my fave movie of all time! Simple love, that is.

:: Japan Trip ::

We spent countless weekends researching on this trip ever since we booked our tickets in Aug. 3 months of research for a 16D free-and-easy trip. We even dumped our little travel notebook for Excel spreadsheet. I missed out countless shopping trips/dinner gatherings/sales just for this! When we finally print out our itinerary 2 days before the trip, all was worth it! 14 pages of A3-sized itinerary tucked safely in my bag, we conquered Osaka-Kyoto-Hiroshima-Hakone-Tokyo. Our longest holiday ever :)

:: 4th yr anniversary & step into quarter life ::

25 yrs on planet Earth. Leecher gave me my bdae present way back in Sep, making my wish come true :) He gave me another surprise on my bdae itself - my own personalized calendar for 2010! The other surprise came from my brothers - Ron, Ryan and ZZG messaging me on my bdae, lol. Shows how thoughtful they are :)

:: KL trip with my beloved brothers & sisters ::

The annual trip with my dearest friends. It was a pity Joe can't make it, but he made a guest appearance in JB. 3D2N of eating-chatting-shopping-drinking is pure bliss.

:: Family ::

When I broke news of my proposal to my little brother, I was touched by his reply:
"Jie Jie, if Keith bully you, you must tell me cuz I will protect you and fight for you"

As we bid goodbye to 2009, it's now time to embrace 2010. I hope this year will be another year filled with happiness and may a new chapter of life enfolds :)

Spoken, for the 1st & last time (hopefully)

I have remained silent for quite a long time since the drama and I think it's time to speak my piece.

No doubt that I do judge (who don't), but this affair is just between you & her. She could be having problems & you just happen to be the knight in shining amour (perhaps in the wrong kind of situation; not the social norm); but what I am pissed off is the lies that went through all it.

The one thing I hate is betrayal of trust from my family & friends. I love my friends and want the best for them. However, they choose to lie about it. To think the parties involved are potential-family-member & friend.

By "accusing" me of being a 3rd party in my current relationship is akin to pointing fingers at your brother's integrity. I wonder if this is his own way of justifying his actions? It could be, in his sense, but not mine.

Please, get this straight into your brain. Whatever happens with you & her is your business. I just realised today that there were quite a couple of posts targeted at me (intentionally/unintentionally). To the person who speak of family, this is what I have to say:

Don't speak loosely of family. When they were there to give you advice, you refused to take it. Now that the problem has been created, don't use the word "family" to attempt to solve it. All the while, this problem has been between me and her. I do not appreciate other people being involved.

To her: I do appreciate you taking the 1st step previously to explain things. I don't understand what you've been going through, but I do know that you betrayed my trust. That hurts a lot to me. Trust is something that I value a lot and you had to break it. I am not saying that it's your fault (given your situation) but what done cannot be undone. I would want to trust you again, someday, somehow.
