Honeymoon: Moulin Rouge

P5093920
Happy mid-week ... can't believe that in 7 days time, it will be Christmas :) I have mentioned countless times that Dec is my fave month of the year  - with birthday/Xmas/New Year celebrations, yippee! Can't wait for BFF to be back with my birthday/Xmas present too, yippee! This time round, I took a longer time to recover from my post-holiday syndrome. I was checking on SQ flights over the weekend, lol! The next holiday ..... almost brewing in progress, haha! Just need to wait for Leecher to give his stamp of approval & I'll have to work doubly-hard to earn $$ to finance the trip. Our winter wonderland trip left me feeling very poor but I enjoyed every moment of it :) Blogging will resume, but at a slower pace so keep a lookout on this space!

After our river cruise, we just walked around the area trying to find our way to the train station for our next activity. Then, we chanced upon Chanel and I got a lil crazy outside the shop (^^)

Openly declaring my , heh. I have dedicated half a day for shopping later in the week, where I nearly went crazy - more on that later. P5093881

I was a fan of the movie "Moulin Rouge" when it hit the cinemas way back in 2001. Being the naive me at that time, I thought Moulin Rouge was just a title for the movie and it wasn't till years later did I realise that Moulin Rouge exists in real life.

You can spot the famous red windmill once you walked out from the metro station. Even though it was 30 min before show starts, a queue was formed outside the theater.

We bought our tickets online to guarantee our seats. You can get to choose if you want the dinner+show tickets or just the show tickets. BFF went for dinner+show tickets and advised me to get just the show tickets. There are 2 shows daily, with the first seating at 9pm and the 2nd seating at 11pm.

I sneakily sneaked a picture inside the theater before the show started.

After a good 2-hour show on can-can dance, we emerged outside and saw that the sky was dark. However, the signature red windmill dazzled against the dark backdrop. We lingered for a while more to take pictures before calling it a day. P5093933
Took the metro back to our apartment.  P5093935P5093939
Prepared for supper - a meal of risotto & beef with Leecher's daily dosage of raspberry :) I really love the ready-packed food found in their supermarkets. They have so much varieties that I was literally begging Leecher to buy all so I could try and we did tried quite a couple during the trip to ease our hunger pangs in the middle of the night. Leecher, on the other hand, is not a fan of microwave food but thankfully he accommodates me whenever he can :)

The aftermath of a long vacation

Honestly, I was extremely tired after the long vacation and spent the weekend at home. The only time I stepped out of the house was to visit my mum + in-laws to pass them the stuff that we bought from Finland. I can't believe how much chocolates I bought from this trip, such that my fridge is now filled to the brim, oops! I hope I have the energy to resume my usual blogging soon, but till then .... let me just get my life back in order heh.

Birthday, 2013

20131130_102930 copy
Before the clock strikes 12, here I am sitting in front of my computer in the comfort of my home. Unlike other years where I'll be heading out for a nice dinner with the hubby, I "celebrated" my birthday onboard the plane flying back from Helsinki, Finland. Prior to this, I had a wonderful winter holidays across various states in Finland - from visiting Santa Claus in Rovaniemi, skiing in Levi, catching a magnificent display of Northern Lights in Nellim, enduring minus 36°C in the cold to staying in a glass igloo in winter wonderland. Everything that happened in these 16 days was simply amazing.

I landed in Singapore on the evening of my special day & once I switched on my phone, I was touched to see all the birthday greetings that came in from all over the world. Thank you everyone for remembering my birthday :) Even though I had to put the laundry to wash, cleaned up the house & ate take-away food, I felt happy knowing that I had the most amazing journey thus far :)

My birthday takes precedence over all things else, but still ....

HAPPY 8th YEAR ANNIVERSARY, MY LOVE ❤ ❤ ❤

KL Work Trip, Aug 2012: Little Penang Kafe & Aseana Cafe Bar

You can probably tell by now that I'm trying to clear as much backlog from my travels as possible on this blog. I hope to finish clearing my 2012 travel posts by year end, with 2 months to go! I just had a quick peep into my 2012 folder and realized that there are still 3 more work trips left, jiayou! I look after Southeast Asia region in my work - even so, I'll normally travel to KL and BKK. The mission is to add one more region under my cover this year, so I'll have to depend on the pre-sales team to make this happen, haha! Anyway, I'm more than happy to cover 3 regions for now :)

Complimentary buggy ride to & fro to KLCC. If you missed the ride, you can always head to KLCC on foot since it is just a short walk away. By a stroke of luck, I managed to catch the buggy ride on my way out thus saving me the walk. #gettinglazy

Off to KLCC for dinner. I had a hard time deciding what I want to eat, given the wide variety of restaurants available. For overseas tourists, please rem to obtain your copy of tourist privileges from Concierge.

After walking for a few rounds, I decided to settle my dinner at Little Penang Kafe, which serves the best of penang food all under one roof. The decor reminded me of the old nostalgic Penang kitchen, with its coloured tiles dotting the walls and floor.

I was starving, so I ordered 2 of their specialties to try. In fact, I do remember faintly of visiting this place before. So, I went back to trace my entries and true enough, I came here with Rinta way back in 2010. Haha, the wonders of keeping a blog where you can (digitally) lock your memories. Well, I even ordered the same food 2 years later - some things do never change!

I took a walk in the park to walk off the excess weight that I gained from stuffing myself silly during dinner. Named as KLCC park, this park was designed to provide greenery to the twin towers & the area surrounding it.
P7311867
The park has a 1.3km long jogging track. I spotted quite a few joggers enjoying their evening jog while heading back to the hotel. For a couple of times, I packed my jogging shoes in my luggage but never got to use it for the bed was sooo comfy.
P7311864
There are a couple of photo spots located around the park. At this particular spot, you get a nice view of the twin towers!
 P7311854
Ta-dah! With every visit to KL, I kept telling myself that I should head up to the sky bridge, but never once did I manage to do so :(
   P7311873
Since I'm at the photo spot, must take a pic right? haha! Headed back to the hotel, showered and worked on my laptop before retiring for the night. I didn't even speak to Leecher but just messaged him good night. Sleep is more important than hubby now, lol!

Breakfast in my room the next morning for I had to prepare some work before heading to client's place for meeting. The food arrived just as I stepped out from the shower - great timing!

Ordered Eggs Benedict & a glass of orange juice to kick-start the day.

It was back to KLCC again for lunch before I head to the airport. Instead of pondering over what to have, I headed over to the nearest restaurant that had seats/tables available.

Aseana Cafe & Bar, located at ground level was the choice for lunch. Thankfully, I managed to grab a table before the lunch crowd starts pouring in.

Cushion seats that I can lean back and relax :)  P8011887P8011890
Aseana is both a cafe & bar. The menu features a wide variety of scrumptious Asian & Western comfort food, complete with a selection of wines and lounge music. If I could have the luxury of time, I would definitely relax in the cushion seats and read a book or the papers.
P8011893P8011897P8011895
I can't really remember exactly what I had - I supposed it was nasi lemak with chicken rendang.  Since I don't have any recollection, the taste must be ordinary at best, haha!

I took the buggy ride back to the hotel for it was scorching hot to walk in the park even though there was a sheltered walk way. At least I could feel some breeze while sitting inside the buggy.
 P8011921
Reached the airport within 40 min. Somehow, I feel all the taxi drivers in KL are aiming to be F1 drivers, lol! As long as there is smooth traffic (which usually is when you hit the highways), the drivers will drive at min 130km/h. Even though I was early, I couldn't change to an earlier flight, boohoo!

Walking to my fave chill-out spot.

Was on whatsapp with Leecher, then took this pic for him and send it across in case he missed me, lol!

Where got own hubby say his wife is old one? *smack forehead* Since you so mean to me, I shall 以牙还牙, hmp!

Scribbling down my meeting notes & follow ups inside my little notebook. I used to carry Winnie the Pooh notebook around and my clients will always be amused by it. Since then, I have switched to a more sleek leather-bound notebook ... but I'll still stick Winnie the Pooh name stickers on the cover, lol!
